High Plains Spring League
High Plains Hockey League is a spring league that groups players by their school districts in a competitive and fun environment. For the girls program there are 10 games and 6 practices then a final tournament weekend. In addition, the girls team that wins is eligible to participate in the High School Nationals tournament the following year.
Ages
What aged players are appropriate for this program?
Players have to be enrolled as full-time high school students between grades 9 and 12.
When
What time of the year does this program run?
The HPHL season generally begins in mid-March with the final playoff tournament on the first weekend in May.
Where
Where are practices and games typically held?
Practices and home games are held at rinks local to the school district. Coyotes home ice is at the Ice Centre at the Promenade and the Sport Stable.
Practices
When are practices and how often are they?
Teams get 6 practices so generally 1 practice per week.
Games
How many games will they play?
Example: Teams will play 10 games plus the playoff tournament.
Jerseys
Are jerseys provided or are they purchased separately?
Jerseys are required to be purchased from the club.
Extra Costs
What costs beyond registration fees should be expected?
Team Registration fees will cover ice time for games and practices and some team apparrel. Socks and jerseys are additional.
